Keychain Is Leading The Nu Metal Revival

Is the band Keychain from Canada THE BEST Nu Metal Revival band that exists today? A lot of sources are saying YES!

Keychain are riding high, heralding the triumphant return of Nu Metal! The band manages to employ everything you ever loved about Nu Metal; with a nostalgic onslaught of unforgettable hooks and slamming grooves. Keychain is undeniable! The hardest thing in the world to do, would be to imagine a band MORE Nu Metal than Keychain. The Canadian quartet recently recorded their ‘Breaking Out’ EP with producer, mixer, and engineer, Glen Robinson (AC/DC, The Rolling Stones, Gwar, Voivod, Annihilator, Slaves on Dope). The recording was mastered by Howie Weinberg (Limp Bizkit, Sevendust, Deftones, Chevelle, Disturbed.)

“Nu-Metal is making a comeback! And it’s starting with Montreal’s Keychain!”

Canada’s Extreme Metal Radio

“Let us introduce you to Keychain, quite possibly the modern day answer to Korn, Limp Bizkit and Slipknot.”

Damnation Magazine

“I decided to give Keychain a chance and see what they could bring. Surprisingly, after hearing the first track Prime Time, I was hooked. I knew they were the real deal as each track shows their musical sensibility and incredible power. If I were to try to describe their sound, it would be a mixture of Sevendust and Hed PE, but not sounding exactly like either one.”

“The mix of styles, the energy, the grooves and the power of bands like Korn, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit and Skindred together, multiply that by five and you get Keychain.”

“Musical styles don’t die easily and as far as #NuMetal is concerned, there’s a new rising star. Their name is Keychain.”

“The group is still in its early stages, but there is already some talk that we are dealing with the successors of Korn, Limp Bizkit and Linkin Park.” 7.2/10

“It’s not often we break our rules and review an EP/ Album that’s already been released but Montreal’s Nu Metal Sensations Keychain are an exception as this release is gonna blow your mind.” – The Metal Meltdown gives it a ROCK SOLID 9.5/10!

“I would highly recommend checking out Keychain and their recorded debut, ‘Breaking Out’ for some innovative and fun modern metal music!”

“This band kicks it out like Korn did back in the day but brings in their own fine tuned elements to the sound.”

“Well done and Very Highly Recommended!” 8/10

“Taking the path that few others have taken (Mudvayne, Slipknot, Limp Bizkit, P.O.D., Sevendust) but bringing it to the the modern rock and metal world is KEYCHAIN. Hailing from Montreal, Canada, they are here to not only shake things up but to take it off the hook.”

Uncivil Revolt

“Their mixture of genres makes them their own unique sound that as soon as you hear them, you know exactly who they are. They are not one of those “guess the band” types where you listen to a band and you end up so frustrated because there are so many that sound alike. No, Keychain is one of a kind band that you’ll have no problem saying, “That’s the band ‘Keychain’,” when they come on the radio or pop up on you’re playlist.”

Lyss Marie – Wicked Bands

“Once in a while there is always a band, a song that catches your attention. That happened to me with the Canadian band Keychain, with their song “Prime Time”.”

Maurice Van Der Zalm – Rock Portaal

“They don’t seem to care what anyone thinks about nu-metal and just want to become the next Limp Bizkit or Linkin Park. As far as I’m concerned, they can. They certainly know how to make a contiguous piece of music in great nu-metal tradition.”

Merchants Of Air

“Through “Prime Time,” the band effortlessly stitches together various genres to create a sound that is quick to capture and demand the listener’s attention. The song seems to resonate an upbeat and energy packed feel that will have the listener head banging along in no time!”

Kelsey Farmer – Living The Van Life

“Their single, “Prime Time,” was quite the refresher in the modern Nu-Metal scene where you have Limp Bizkit still sputtering along and rapcore groups like Hollywood Undead confused about what to do with the future of their sound. 9/10”

Zerrick Hilliard – WTF MUSIC

“Sounds really good. Reminds me of early Saliva. I’m digging it.”

Jeremy Williams – 11 Degree Management Group

“Keychain combine elements of metal, alternative rock and hip hop to create a really catchy, bouncy sound that still hits you like a ton of very sharp bricks.”

Mosh – Moshville Times

“The Montreal act is crafting a hard hitting sound out of metal, alternative rock, and hip hop vibes.”

Emillie Marvel – Idobi Radio

“It’s ‘Prime Time’ – Montreal’s KEYCHAIN are ready to rebirth Nu-Metal.”

Hammer Records

“Channeling Sevendust, Korn and P.O.D, “Prime Time” simply let’s rip with huge choruses, heavy-ass riffs and enough aggression to tear the skin off your motherf*ckin’ face! Nu Metal is back and KEYCHAIN could very well lead the charge! 8/10”

Chris Jennings – Worship Metal
